What are Preferences
You can set personal settings in DAISHO for several views and functions.
General
Under General you see your database settings. You've set them during the product configuration. These settings cannot be changed anymore.
Under Keys you can set personal short cuts in the view Modify.
Calendar
Under Calendar you can set the date and time format as well as the working hours for the calendar view. Furthermore you can set the view for the weekday and weekend working hours for the weekly budget for the view Planning.
Contact
Under Contact you can set personal settings for your contact details. You can click the default settings for the contact name format. Furthermore you can select if the Business or the Private dataset should be displayed by default. Finally, you can select a default country that is displayed for your contacts.
Salutations
In DAISHO you can individually handle, add or delete Salutations like Titles and Salutations in letters or email.
Language
You can enter up to five different languages of your contacts in the preferences. With the allocation of the Language to you particular contacts you can easily see which language is the best to communicate in.
Outlook Integration
You can set in the preferences that DAISHO automatically manages the connection of each data import or export of Outlook. If you allow this the connection persists as long as all data are transferred successfully.
If you keep the Outlook pre-settings, the maximum time of the data transfer is 10 min. After 10 min the connection is cut off even if not all data have been transferred.
Update
Under Update you can set if you want DAISHO to check for updates at startup and if you want to automatically install new updates.
What are Preferences for Short-Cut Keys
There are two views about Keys preferences: View and Modify
View shows the category and key sequence related to the current setting in Modify
In the Modify view, there are four different Scheme you can choose. The default and Emacs are system settings. Daisho gives you another two choices (Daisho Default & Private Setting). Choosing Daisho Default, you will achieve the original setting of the Key Sequence from this software. Otherwise, you can also set your own Key Sequence by choosing Private Setting.
How to configure Keyboard shortcuts
- Go to menu Window -> Preferences.
- Click on the view Modify. Here you can change the DAISHO default key bindings, to the ones you want to set yourself.
- Choose Private Setting in the field Scheme with the drop-down menu.
- Then select the Category for which you want to change the key bindings.
- The existing actions will show up on the Name selection box.
- Choose the action which you want to set your own key sequence.
- Then insert a specific key sequence in the selection box below.
For example you want to change the key binding for the One-Day View. First, set the Category as Daisho Calendar Key Bindings. Then choose the One-Day View from the drop-down menu. As an example you could enter Alt + 1 in Key Sequence - In the When field you can select in which part of the software you want the new key bindings to be activated.
- The recommended setting is In Windows, which means the key binding is activated for all parts of the software (e.g. calendar, contacts).
- Then press the Add button to save this setting.
- Your new setting appears in the Assignments view.
With this private setting, each time you press Alt + 1 button, it will show the one-day view on the Calendar.
By pressing the Restore Defaults, you will delete all the key sequence settings in your Private Setting. The Default settings are activated again.
You can select the DAISHO Default from the drop-down menu in the Scheme field.
You can also set new Private Settings.
